Growing Up Immigrant creator, Nathaniel Kweku, is a first-generation Ghanaian-American actor, storyteller, and USC alum who has appeared on shows including Rosewood, Start-Up, and SWAT. He also has an upcoming lead role in An African City creator Nicole Amarteifio’s feature-film debut Before the Vows, opposite respected Ghanaian actors John Dumelo and Maame Adjei.

Akuyoe is a veteran stage, film, and TV actress who has appeared on hit shows and movies such as NCIS, When We Rise, and American Pie. Akuyoe is also the founder of Spirit Awakening, a non-profit foundation with the mission of helping incarcerated and formerly-incarcerated youth through creative expression.

Kojo is Nicholas’s older brother, even though it doesn’t always feel like it. He was born in Ghana and may or may not be in America illegally, a situation that’s dependent on his current relationship with his separated wife, Kayla.

Peterjohn is a Jamaican-born actor who has starred in a number of short films and plays, stateside. Growing Up Immigrant is his first web-series and he’s ready for more challenges.

Nkem is a professional and sophisticated Nigerian-American woman and the HR Director at Eth-Ni-Cal, the digital media PR agency where Nicholas works. Despite her successful veneer, she also has some deep-rooted issues that we explore in the series.

Nigerian American actress Jessica Obilom has worked on a number of feature-films, web series, and short films. She most recently starred in a lead role opposite Ashley in Trafficked, a feature-film exploring realities of sex-trafficking.

Rasil is Nicholas’s multiracial Eth-Ni-Cal co-worker and friend who has a habit of saying things that Nick doesn’t always want to hear.

Josh Davis has worked on a number of TV shows including Revenge, General Hospital, and Grey’s Anatomy, in addition to short-film and other new media productions. He’s also an accomplished director and producer who currently creates content for BuzzFeed.

Tanisha is an opinionated and sophisticated intern at Eth-Ni-Cal… an intern who doesn’t always understand that she’s an intern.
Actor Bio
Michelle started as a child actress, appearing as a recurring character on Nickelodeon fan-favorite show, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide. After taking some time away to start a successful photography business, Michelle came back to acting and has appeared on shows including Shameless, Ray Donovan, and The Gifted.
